The University of Michigan Office of Research will posthumously honor U-M Tech Transfer Licensing Specialist Jessica Soulliere with its annual Outstanding Service Award on May 23, 2019.
Jessica, who passed away on October 1, 2018 after a year-long battle with lung cancer, had been a member of the licensing team in our office since 2014, working to move software, mobile technologies, and creative works from the laboratory into the wider world. Her contributions to the success of U-M based innovations and technologies are many, but she played a particularly critical role in several important start-up licensing efforts including Neurable and Parabricks. She was especially proud of the positive impact that these and other efforts would have on changing and improving lives.
Jessica was a trusted and valued colleague with an exceptional work ethic, a strong commitment to providing exceptional service, and an indomitable and persistently positive spirit. While we mourn her loss to our team, the university community, and her family, we will continue to celebrate her positive impact on everyone that she worked with at U-M and beyond.
In addition to receiving the UMOR Outstanding Service Award, U-M Tech Transfer has established an internal award in recognition of Jessica’s significant contributions. More information on The Jessica Soulliere Tech Transfer Service Award can be found here.
