Tom MartenTitle: Coulter Program Director
Tom Marten has nearly 20 years of industry experience in pharmaceutical and biotech commercial operations and new product strategic planning, and 7 years experience consulting with biopharma, diagnostics, and device startups.
Tom joins us from Pharmacision, a consulting company founded by Tom, where he worked closely with several biotech startups, including Aastrom Biosciences and RetroSense Therapeutics. Previously, Tom held leadership roles in sales, marketing, market research, and strategic planning positions at Glaxo Inc., Glaxo Wellcome, Bayer Biological Products, and Talecris Biotherapeutics.
Tom has had commercial involvement in over 10 major pharma / biopharma product launches and has significant experience in new product planning, commercial strategy development, licensing assessments, and brand marketing. While with Pharmacision, Tom has also engaged numerous times with the UM Innovation Partnerships office to conduct market opportunity assessments for Michigan life science technologies, including two recent Coulter projects.
Tom received a B.S. in Medicinal Chemistry from the State University of New York at Buffalo and an MBA in Finance from the William E. Simon School of Business at the University of Rochester.
