Jodie RichardsonTitle: Assistant Director of Operations
Jodie joined U-M Tech Transfer in 2016 where she served as the Patent Administrator before advancing to the Manager of Business Process Optimization role performing a variety of duties to improve and support all areas of Tech Transfer. Jodie recently transitioned to her role as the Assistant Director of Operations at U-M Tech Transfer where she oversees a team managing federal compliance obligations under Bayh-Dole, compliance matters associated with non-federal funding agreements, licensee and agreement compliance, as well as administrative activities related to the processing of invention reporting, docketing and patent portfolio administration. She also focuses on business process development & implementation, managing the internal database used in Tech Transfer, including data integrity and reporting efforts.
Prior to joining the University, Jodie worked at the University of Nebraska (NUtech Ventures) tech transfer office as the Patent Paralegal & IT/Web Coordinator, and spent more than a decade working as a Paralegal specializing in estate planning, probate and tax law.
Jodie holds an Associate of Applied Science degree in Paralegal Studies, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Business Analysis and Management.
